Trail of Seeds, Inc is a fully incorporated, 501(c)3 pending, charitable organization.  Our goal is to promote Culturally Sustainable Development and Community Activism in agricultural communities around the world.  We also hope to connect these various communities and inspire others to make similar change.  Members of the communities we work with will take part in an introspection process in which they explore what "culture" means to them, how it is being helped or hindered by current development agendas, and how to take part in development initiatives that they believe are culturally sustainable.  Trail of Seeds will then disperse micro-grants to allow these initiatives to flourish.  Our hope is that through the introspection process and subsequent communications with other agricultural communities individuals will feel a larger sense of pride in the work that they do, as they will realize how radically different "cultures" have incredibly similar goals and challenges.  We want agricultural workers to stop feeling repressed or alienated from their labor and culture, and to realize that their mission is a mission of humanity- that they are part of something enormous.  We want to give communities a sense of control of their development and to see the importance of feeling like their culture is self-directed and not taken away by outside forces.
